Development Department Internship:

The American Domestic Violence Crisis Line provides a continuum of services to American citizens living abroad and experiencing domestic violence. We are looking for an energetic Intern for its Development Department to assist with special projects and day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will have an interest in non-profits and fundraising. The Development Intern will help with administrative and research projects including researching and developing new corporate sponsorships, building community partnerships, compiling organizational data, and identifying individual donor prospects.

Familiarity with MS Office is necessary for this position. In addition, candidates must be Internet savvy, have good clerical skills, and excellent attention to detail. The Development Intern will provide administrative and grant research support and will have the opportunity to learn about nonprofit fundraising, grant applications,
and direct solicitation programs. This is a great opportunity for candidates interested in non-profit fundraising and management.

Duties include:

Data entry and clean-up, grant research, grant-writing, prospect research, and fundraising.  Intern candidates must have good computer skills, excellent writing and communication skills, and an interest in women's issues.

Intern Qualifications:

Undergraduate student, graduate student, or recent college graduate

Experience and interest in nonprofit administration and/or domestic violence

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Ability to establish priorities and juggle numerous assignments at one time

Internet savvy

Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) required; and knowledge of Microsoft Access preferred.
